Brighten Your Skin with Berries
If your skin is dull and you’re looking to brighten your complexion, try using making this soothing Berry Yogurt Mask from just a few simple ingredients: yogurt, honey and whatever berries you have in your fridge! Blueberries and blackberries are great to use because they are naturally full of antioxidants which hydrate and help to revive your skin. Plain yogurt is full of lactic acid which helps to dissolve dry skin. Honey is great in any face mask because it is a naturally antiseptic and soothes any irritations.
I use this recipe whenever my skin just isn’t looking as bright and healthy as I want and after a couple uses, I really notice a difference!
- 2 tbsp plain yogurt
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1/4 cup mixed berries
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
Instructions: Combine all ingredients in a blender until they are smooth. Apply the mixture to your face and let it set for 10 – 15 minutes. Rinse your face completely and pat your skin dry with a clean wash cloth.
Tomato Mask for Oily Skin
In the summer, my skin gets really oily so I use this face mask to balance my complexion. It features tomatoes, lemons and oats. Easy! The acid in the tomatoes also works to tighten pores if you find yourself noticing your pores in the mirror. The oatmeal in the recipe is rough and exfoliates the top layer of skin, but it’s gentle enough that it won’t irritate your skin! Try using this face mask once a week, and you’ll definitely notice a difference!
- 1 small tomato
- 1 lemon
- 2 tbsb oats
Instructions: Finely chop the tomato in small pieces. Squeeze the juice of the lemon over the chopped tomato. Put the oats into your blender alone and blend them until it’s a powder. Then add the oat powder to your tomato and lemon juice mixture and spread over your face. Avoid your eyes as this is a really acidic mask! Let the mask sit for 15 – 20 minutes before washing it off.
Avocado Face Mask for Dry Skin
Do you find your skin feels tight and dry? Then try this nourishing mask for hydrating and soothing your skin! I usually end up using this mask in the winter when my face gets really dry. Avocado is full of healthy fats and oils and really soaks into your skin to hydrate. The honey, lemon and apple cider vinegar work to soothe any irritation and brighten your skin. You’ll wake up feeling and looking refreshed after using this mask!
- 1/2 avocado
- 1/4 cup oats
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp lemon juice
Instructions: Mix and mash all the ingredients into a bowl. Apply the spread to your face and let it sit for about 20 minutes. Rinse it off with warm water and don’t forget to moisturize with your usual moisturizer once you wash off the mask.
